It is multidisciplinary i.e. it not only focuses on the medication but also the mental, emotional, social, and physical state of an individual. Its aim is not only to treat the disease but also a lifelong happy and healthy individual.

Ayurveda believes that human body is made up of three doshas (faults or mistakes): Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Vata consists of air and space, Pitta has fire and water and Kapha includes earth and water. Normally these three doshas are in equilibrium to each other. In case of any imbalances, disturbances arise and ayurvedic treatment works to bring the three in harmony again.

These three doshas control the different functions of the body. For example:

Vata is mainly present in colon or in bones, ears thighs, hips etc. it controls the movement in muscles, pulsations of heart, feelings and emotions like excitement, laughing, crying pain etc. it is also responsible for the movement of cytoplasm and cell membranes.

Pitta represents transformation and is present in small intestines, stomach, sweat glands eyes. It governs digestion, nutrition, metabolism, body temperature and its color.

Kapha, as comprises of earth and water so present as a state of equilibrium. It is present in nose, plasma, cytoplasm, sinuses and other liquid secretion. It mainly provides lubrication and structure to the body. Emotions like attachment, love, anger are also controlled by Kapha. It gives biological strength to the body.

Three different methods of ayurvedic treatment:
